To get started and make an appointment, NEW clients MUST e-mail
Teen Talk Line at JoelleMFT@TeenTalkLine.org to briefly describe the presenting problem. If you are under 18 years of age, Teen Talk Line must also receive an e-mail from your caregiver consenting to counseling by Joelle Jacobson, M.A., L.M.F.T, P.P.S., Neurofeedback Clinician, Treatment Placement Specialist. In your caregiver’s e-mail, please include any information regarding custody agreements and consent to use the credit card for counseling.

Joelle Jacobson, M.A., L.M.F.T., P.P.S., Brainspotting Practitioner, Neurofeedback Clinician and Treatment Placement Professional is available by appointment in person, via phone or videoconference; Telemental Health. For clients seeking phone or videoconference sessions, if geographically possible, it is preferred that your first session be held in person.

You will be billed via Zelle at the time of your session.
There is a 48-hour cancellation policy. You will be billed if the session is missed without a 48-hour notice. Joelle may decide to adjust her fees at any point, but will give the client advance notice of these changes.
Teen Talk Line does not take insurance, but if requested, a SuperBill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance carrier.

If you are under 18 years of age, Teen Talk Line must also receive an e-mail from your caregiver consenting to counseling by Joelle Jacobson, M.A., L.M.F.T, P.P.S., Brainspotting Practitioner, Neurofeedback Clinician and Treatment Placement Professional. In your caregiver’s e-mail, please include any information regarding custody agreements and consent to bill using Zelle for counseling.
After you have received an e-mail response from Joelle, you must fill out and sign the appropriate intake form, Telemental Health consent form and Disclaimer form before counseling can begin. The forms must be sent back with your signature. If you are a teen, you need to fax it back with your signature and your caregiver’s signature to 855-833-6411. You can also fill out the forms, take a photo of each page and email it back to the HIPPA-compliant email address, JoelleMFT@TeenTalkLine.org.
If you are a teen looking at this website and your parents are divorced, your parents must have joint-legal custody for one parent to sign off on treatment. If your parent has sole custody, that parent must sign the Telemental Health consent form. If the custody agreement specifies that both parents must sign off on mental health treatment, both parents must sign the Telemental Health form. If accessible, please fax or email a copy of the custody agreement for Joelle Jacobson’s records.
At the time of your appointment, Joelle will call you on the preferred phone number you specified on your intake form. If you would like to be called on a different phone number than what is listed on your form, please send Joelle an email before your appointment time.
Under the California Family Code 6924 – A minor 12 or older may consent to outpatient mental health treatment or counseling on an outpatient basis, or to residential shelter services if all of the following conditions are satisfied:

  • The minor, in the opinion of the attending professional person, is mature enough to participate intelligently in the outpatient services or residential shelter services; AND
  • The minor either would present a danger of serious physical or mental harm to self or others without the services or is the alleged victim of incest or child abuse.
